The event is dubbed “Highfield Revival” because at some time Highfield guys had the opportunity to showcase their body building skills. Tino Tsungu did an acrobatic move after winning the junior men bodybuilding division in Highfiled in 2009.
He said, “My blood I am happy I have made it”. It was on that same day when Isaac Dhliwayo won the senior men bodybuilding division defeating seasoned athletes like 2005 Mr Zimbabwe Junior Champion, Shelton Nyakuchena in the process. The competition was held at Mushandirapamwe Hotel at Machipisa Business Center.
The event which was simply called Mr Highfields had 2008 and Mr Zimbabwe Bodybuilding overall winner, Tarirai Chirume as the guest poser while Ishmael Abdul was the line judge. Ishmael was also the Master of Ceremony. Profitness gym donated the trophies. Gerald Noble, Blessing Samaringa, Vincent Kandiyero and the current NFZBBF Secretary General, Quiet Shangai were in attendance.
Veteran body builders Collin Mushunje and George Munyoro once trained at Highfields gym. Also George Munyoro won a Mr Highfield Junior title back in the days. Without forgetting that Caryon Tembo, Kim Zhanero and Godwin Vareta (may their souls rest in peace); Tendayi Chaipa and Moses Butau are all products of Highfields?
All bodybuilders, strongmen and women are invited to this event which will be open to all. Lots of prizes will be won at the rebirth of Highfield.
