Cesar Azpilicueta has been selected by Spain boss Julen Lopetegui for the forthcoming World Cup.
Other Chelsea players already selected for the forthcoming World Cup are Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois and Michy Batshuayi who have been named in a provisional 28-man Belgian squad by Roberto Martinez for this summer’s World Cup.Belgium are in a group with England, Tunisia and Panama and kick off their campaign against the Central Americans on 18 June.
It will be Chelsea vice-captain Azpilicueta’s third appearance at a major tournament having featured at the 2014 World Cup and 2016 European Championships, when Spain couldn’t defend their titles.
Spain will head to Russia as one of the favourites this summer after having topped a qualifying group containing Italy, and recently having thrashed Argentina 6-1 in a friendly.
They are in a group with Portugal, Morocco and Iran, and start with a match against their Iberian neighbours in Sochi on June 15.
