
Former Zimbabwe Football Association(ZIFA) Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Mashingaidze rallies behind the Warriors as the team begins preparations for the 2019 Nations Cup qualifier at the National Sports Stadium on June 11.
Speaking in an interview at the sidelines of the St George’s Invitational Soccer Tournament Under 20 over the weekend, former ZIFA CEO wished the Warriors the best in their campaign.
“I urge the ZIFA leadership to call the best players overseas so that we shine as a nation. It will be of great achievement if players like Bonnie and Darikwa manage to participate for their nation”, he said.
Mashingaidze also said coach Norman Mapeza should be given a chance to select players of his choice such that he will not blame anyone if does not manage to qualify for the 2019 Nations Cup.
The Peter Lovemore Memorial Trophy sponsored by Hammer and Tongues for the late horse commentator was clinched by Prince Edward.The tournament was applauded by St Goerge’s coach Big boy Mawiwi,St Ignatius coach Lovemore “Chole Chole” Mugota and Prince Edward coach Norman Taruvinga as a good platform for grass roots development.
Lt General P.v. Sibanda Commander ZNA was the guest of honour at the tournament.
