The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has provisionally dismissed a Harare City Football Club official, Hope Chizuzu, from all football related activities forthwith.
The motion to bar Chizuzu from partaking any role whatsoever within football circles was passed at an Executive Committee meeting held on the 8th of March in the capital.
Part of the expulsion letter served to Chizuzu read, “In terms of Article 34 (n) of the ZIFA constitution, you are forthwith provisionally dismissed from all association football roles and activities administered under the FIFA and ZIFA statutes, subject to confirmation of your expulsion by the ZIFA Congress in terms of Article 36(1) of the ZIFA constitution.”
Chizuzu is charged with bringing the game of football into disrepute due to his complete disregard of ZIFA’s rules and regulations; consistently misrepresenting facts of ZIFA’s activities by concocting malicious allegations against the association president, Dr Phillip Chiyangwa.
The provisional expulsion automatically obliges Chizuzu to relinquish all “roles, rights and functions as an official at Harare City Football Club with immediate effect.”
Chizuzu is also charged for contravening Article 7 of the ZIFA constitution which regulates on the conduct of ZIFA officials and bodies in all their activities.
Pending the decision of the ZIFA Congress regarding his provisional expulsion, Chizuzu is prohibited from taking any part in the business of association football on the globe.
