Hell hath no fury like a football sponsor in an unconducive atmosphere as Delta Beverages regards parting ways with Castle Premier Soccer League (PSL).

History will be a living tissue if Delta cut ties with PSL  as this will resonate to the Econet against Net One catastrophe when Econet withdrew their 5- year- deal with PSL in the past. The squabbles emanated because Econet as the league’s prize winner sponsor wanted all the team jerseys to have their logo whilst Net One sponsoring Caps United wanted their logo to be used by Caps United. An impasse was not reached because  Caps United also wanted Econet’s prize money.
The controversy surrounding Zifa and PSL can be alluded highlighting the traits of Zifa president Dr Phillip Chiyangwa and our online writer Tendai Chisiri.
Our online writer was at Zimpapers’ Sports zone as a correspondent after being in oblivion from the media for 8 years.Being a novice to the sports desk, he presented questionable stories.Tendai Chisiri reported in 2015 at Sports zone about the move by Zifa councillors to have play offs but did not mention when it would be carried out as if it was the coming season of 2016.
As Zifa works with PSL, the Zifa councillors also follow the PSL constitution. Unlike Chiyangwa, our online writer’s colleague clarified on the latter’s error. Zifa councillors should have noted that Chiyangwa is a human who can err and they should have advised him to follow the PSL constitution. His view to have four teams promoted automatically instead of play offs to have 2 teams promoted should have been done according to the PSL constitution.
Although our online writer is not a distinguished wealth person, his strength and weaknesses can be taken into consideration as Zifa and PSL are at loggerheads.Dr Phillip Chiyangwa being new to his position but having been a sport promoter in the past demands that the PSL have 18 teams. He remains absolute that as a Zifa president, his word should be final in the football circle.

Terri Chisiri running to her dad to have her tracksuit jacket adjusted

He is not different from our online writer taking  a  picture of his daughter Terri who  asking for help to have her tracksuits adjusted to fit her well. He remains adamant that she should have a photo shoot for being nice. The daughter respects the father but if the father does not notice these trivial circumstances, he will end up being accused of neglect by the child.
If Delta Beverages shun away from PSL, such act will leave Zifa as a rotten sod. Zifa councillors are there to lead the way by giving Chiyangwa ideas over the issue as per his campaign motto,” Bhora kuna Phidza”.
Dr Phillip Chiyangwa’s perception of 18 teams for PSL instead of 16 is like likening the PSL to an amateur sport. For instance until recently, Rugby Union was completely an amateur sport with 15 players in a team while Rugby League has always had professional players with 13 players in a league. In England, Union was mainly a game for gentleman who went to private schools. The two sports used to have a bad relationship with each other, but this is now changing and players can now pass from one sport(or code) to the other.
