Speaking on the sidelines of the World Humanitarian Day Friday, Jason Taylor an office director at USAID Zimbabwe complimented how sport activities have eased their way of doing business.”We have Amalima project in Matebeleland which is a food security programme. There are aspects that focus on health and nutrition, agriculture and disaster risk reduction. The youth are a group of stakeholders who can be difficult to reach because of different interests and experiences but one thing that most people like is sport”, he said.
“Sport is a good way to convey people in the spirit of fun and team work. At Amalima project, we are experimenting and rolling sports tournaments in football, netball basketball and volleyball to mention a few”, he said.
“Sports activities have been successful in identifying and reaching out to the youths and that depicted that sport is a way to help and harness enthusiasm both in male and female”, he said.
