Hosts Prince Edward and Churchill match brought down the curtain on the Dairibord Schools Rugby Festival on Saturday.

The match which had huge attendance at the Jubilee Field saw Church hill’s Bulldogs humping Prince Edward’s Tigers. The explosive match portrayed an exciting schools rugby league beckoning in the 2nd term.
Tapiwa Murimira scored a try before Tinotenda Zvishiri put a conversion for the Tigers after having gained a good field position. Prince Edward managed to have the ball position frequently n Church hill’s half and attacked running with the ball wide.
Church hill had a fault on team work as the players could not pass the ball to each other swiftly thereby being racked often in the stripe zone. The Bull dogs were awarded a penalty with the score line 00 to 07 in favor of the Tigers but did not score. Cloud Masibera later made a try with Tendai Muringai scoring a conversion from he right side.
Tendai Muringai put he Bulldogs ahead with a penalty. Tapiwa Murimira however had a try for the Tigers as the match became tense. They went to the breather with the Tigers leading 12 to 10.
In less than 5 minutes from half time, Love Mudere made a try and scored a conversion for the Bulldogs. Industrious Tiger leveled the match 17-17 before leading through a conversion by Tinotenda Zvishiri. An overlap by Church hill could have resulted in a try if the Bulldogs had used it wisely.
The match was tightly contested as fans were kept on their feet with others about to enter the ground cheerfully. Takudzwa Mundandishe had a try to make the score 19- 22 with the Bulldogs leading. Tapiwa Chidenga scored the last conversion and Bull dogs won the match.
Church hill made hits to gain ground as they attacked from their half side. Bulldogs coach, Jeffry Madhaki in an interview said his boys had made him proud.”I am looking forward to a victorious rugby schools league from how the boys played. It was a great game”, he said.

Just a minor spelling correction. It’s Churchill, not Church Hill.
