The match kicks off at 1300 hours in the main field, the Jubilee field. Vainona have won all their 2 matches whilst their opponents are riding high on an unbeaten record of 2 matches at the Festival. The two teams have met in the league games where Vainona beat Girls High at Royal College in Glen- view.

Vainona scrum half Beverly Ridaka said, “We are not afraid of Girls High and the match is going to be like the final as it would be competitive.Lilian Chinyani who is Vainona’s  full back also tipped her team to win.”Our league games started last term and we have been victorious in the matches”, she said.

However Girls High players were also optimistic of victory. They were in a bullish mood and saw a win against Vainona necessary. Leanne Max, GIRLS High‘s 8th lady said,”Vainona only has 3 players who hold their play. If those players are eliminated from play we will win.

Chido Masanzu who is a winger also concurred that they will beat Vainona.”Vainona does not play rugby for the love of sport but they are inspired. Vainona girls receive rugby scholarships so they play so that they will not be pulled out of school”, she said.

Her claims were refuted by Stacey Mabika who plays for Vainona.” We win because of the love of sport, determination and commitment. Girls High are a good competition”, she said.
