The World Rugby U20 Trophy was not confiscated

The Zimbabwe Rugby Union(ZRU) has rubbished reports that the World Rugby Trophy was confiscated and the young Sables team is star studded with foreign based players who will take part in the tourney which kicks off on Tuesday 19 April at Harare Sports Club with Namibia facing United States of America at 10 00 hours.

In a press statement, ZRU said” Following articles which read  that the World Rugby U20 trophy was confiscated by Zimbabwe Revenue Authority officials last week, we would like to advise on the following : World Rugby U20 Trophy was not confiscated rather, we offered due diligence in the performance of necessary clearance protocols”. ZRU president  John Falkenberg said the final will be played at National Sports stadium.ZRU president also said the tourney will boost tourism.

ZRU director of rugby, Bright Chivandire has announced the squad .he said their main endeavour had two objectives.The first Is to have good results and good performance of the team.The second is to create a group  of players that will love to play together in future.”Our target is a minimum of two wins as the team had no high profile tourney of late.Its first time in 3 years where we did fairly well.The young Sables lastly played in a intense tourney in 2012 at World Cup in America.

The young Sables squad will be as follows;

Forwards: Mendehlson Justin,Bhasera Steven,Maoni Jeff,Lioga Farai, Mubaiwa Rodrick, Ngwenya Lebogang, Tinotenda Musasanure, Machena Tinashe,Ndoro Kudakwashe, Zhoya Tatenda,Pritchard Conor, Mangwana Tapiwa, Shioma Martin, Burnett Aiden and Nyamugama Daniel.

Backs: Mudzengere Ernest, Gamanya Takudzwa, Bruce Angus, Gochera Tadiwa, Ngosi Tawanda, Manhombo Mudiwa, Munangi Kudzaishe, Phiri Sam, Matoramusha Brian, Katsvere Shingirai and Mapfumo Tarisai.
