World Rugby U20 Trophy 2016 tourney preparations have been successful as World Rugby officials visited the tournament facilities on Monday and approved them.
In an interview, Zimbabwe Rugby Union Mr Nyarai Sibanda on the Young Sables endorsement said they have done extremely well.”We hope to have a good tournament and want other countries to experience the good hospitality of Zimbabwe.
The Young Sables had a privilege to meet the music icon Oliver Mutukudzi during their training at St Georges in Harare on Monday.Dr Mutukudzi encouraged the Young Sables to play their best in the forth coming tournament.”I feel so humbled tom be chosen and come out here to meet the team. When I grow up there was nothing like that in our time. When you do sport you are doing it for yourself and the entire nation”, said Dr Mutukudzi.
“We would like to see you flying the flag high. You are not inferior at all”, he told the Young Sables players. The Young Sables endorsement was graced by officials from Old Mutual the team’ sponsors and the tournament‘s sponsors ZOL who were represented by Mrs Chinhara.8 teams will participate including Fiji, Hong Kong, Namibia, Uruguay, USA and Zimbabwe. The tournament kicks off on 19 April to 1 May.
Zimbabwe Rugby Union Vice president also said “its all systems go and it’s first of its kind to be held in Zimbabwe for the junior Sables.
Zimbabwe qualified fro the junior World Cup in America in 2012 and there is great hope they will outwit their opponents.
