
The alleged Zimbabweans plotting to fix the Swazi- Zim Afcon 2017 qualifier match will appear before the Zifa disciplinary hearing in due course to answer to the charges and hear the verdict of their alleged demeanor.
The accused are Henrietta Rushwaya, Edzai Kasinauyo, Nation Dube, Kudzai Shaba, Ian Gorowa and Jonathan Musavengana .They have been sent letters to respond to Zifa within seven days of their awareness of the hearing.
The conspirators will be allowed to appear before the Zifa disciplinary committee with their lawyers or kinsmen according to Zifa CEO Jonathan Mashingaidze.Zifa president Phillip Chiyangwa who earlier own had dealt with the Asia gate culprits leniently said this time around the corner he was not soft on match fixers.”Our intention is to ban them for life”, he said.
Players who were fingered in match fixing with the likes of George Chigova, Partson Jaure has been spared from attending the disciplinary hearing.”It is too premature to charge players as they have been wronging their respective clubs not Zifa. Zifa, Safa and Caf are investigating the scandal.
Meanwhile Zifa has expelled their committee member for referees Edzai Kasinauyo for taking his suspension plea to the High Court. This was revealed at a press conference in Harare mid afternoon Wednesday.Dr Phillip Chiyangwa said government should not interfere with decisions made by Zifa as it is accountable to Fifa.”Edzai Kasinauyo will be no longer be player manager as we want to take away his license”, said Zifa president.
