ZIM CHAN COACH BREAKS THE SILENCE

Warriors coach Kallisto Pasuwa has announced the final 23 member squad to represent Zimbabwe at the upcoming Orange African Nations Championship (Chan) in Rwanda which is slated for the January 16 to February 7 2016 according to the ZIFA official website.
Brian Muzondiwa, Tichaona Chipunza, George Majika and Talent Chawapihwa were dropped to reduce the team to the final 23.Captain Hardlife Zvirekwi is expected to lead the squad to glory with Knox Mutizwa as the vice-captain. Zimbabwe will kick start their 2016 Chan participation with a game against their COSAFA rivals, Zambia on January 19.
Warriors coach Pasuwa expressed his wish to succeed at the Chan tournament.
“We need to do our best and lead the nation to a stage where everyone agrees that the team has done well, we will do our best,” Pasuwa told journalists at a press briefing. The coach played down the effects of injuries which affected his camp. “Seriously injured players left camp, but the selected players are better off than the unselected ones,” added Pasuwa.
The coach also hailed the selection as the one that suite his playing style and encouraged the dropped players to up their game. “The selected players are the ones who suite my game plan as a coach and those who didn’t make it into the final 18 have to be strong mentally next time during the camping period,” concluded Pasuwa.
The Warriors will leave the country for Rwanda on January 16.
The Warriors will be hoping to better their previous exploit at the African Nations Championship where they came out fourth placed.
Zimbabwe is in group D alongside Zambia, Mali and Uganda.
